About Dr. Shore:

As a licensed clinical psychologist, and registered play therapist, Dr. Shore has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families with various psychological issues. Dr. Shore currently specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders. She maintains a dedication to the promotion of social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of her clients.

Dr. Shore earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She has more than ten years of professional experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of mental health, educational, and social settings. She also has a specialization in play therapy. She views counseling with children and families as an investment in a better future. Dr. Shore recognizes the importance of using empirically-supported treatments in her clinical practice. Dr. Shore uses a strengths-based model in which she uses a wide range of interventions to focus on each client’s positive attributes Dr. Shore recognizes that different people benefit from different kinds of therapy and therefore has experience using a variety of approaches. She tailors her treatment approach based on the specific needs and strengths of each client. Dr. Shore’s work incorporates play therapy interventions, techniques from Theraplay, Art Therapy techniques, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Attachment based techniques and insight oriented talk therapy.

Dr. Shore has a lot of  experience in working with families who have experienced foster care or adoption (both domestically and internationally) and has supported parents through associated transitional processes.
